These deconstructions aim to help me with the layout of my own magazine's contents page. The contents page for Q magazine is the one I like the most. this is because I think the layout allows a lot more information to be added without making it look cramped. For now, the thing I would change would be the positioning of the features.

Here are the reader profiles of two people from the intended target audience. They both are ideal readers because they enjoy the genre of music which my magazine will be based on. Their daily doings also inspired me to include some exclusive information on the contents page and to help shape the magazine itself. The magazine will help them with their struggles and give useful tips and tricks, whilst keeping them entertained by their favourite music.

Here are two of my favourite music magazine front covers that I will use as inspiration in creating my own front cover. they both have very different themes and colour schemes but it makes me realise I could combine them together in a way.

Music Magazine Moodboard

Here is a mood board I created showing different examples of music magazines with artists I listen to or know. From this, I can gather some key features in making a successful magazine cover. Since most of these covers are related to my chosen music genre (Pop/R&b), it will be fairly easy to derive common features from all these covers. For example, the cover star is all the main focus with either a black or white masthead and limited use of complementary colours. I really like the theme and layout 'Billboard' use because they have a limited amount of cover-lines, so all the focus is on the cover star and masthead.
